Here are the last of our vacation pictures and video :-)

This is my favorite picture :-)!

A Sicilian donkey :-)

A coke machine in the wild :-). We thought this was really funny, especially since it reminded us of this Family Guy fire truck short :-)

I'm not very fond of frogs. This would be a nightmare for me :-).

One of the most interesting things about the Nashville Zoo is that it's got a historic farm right on the property. Its owners (two sisters, the last one died in 1974) turned the property over to the government with two conditions: that there be a wildlife sanctuary built on the land, and that they be buried on the property.

If you think it looks spooky, you're right. It's even spookier in real life :-).

Our current apartment choice

Current Mood:
CC is listening to: From Here on Out--Dan Siegel (Departure)

We've looked at several apartment communities in Franklin, and Steve and I have agreed that we'll probably be staying at Alara Farms.

The buildings are a little too close together for me...

But there are several pluses too. A whirlpool...

A big gym...

Tennis courts (not that we play tennis, but they're nice courts :-))

And the landscaping at the business center is really nice :-).

As for the floor plans, we really like the Meadowland and the Saratoga. The Meadowland is 1278 square feet with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, but it's $360 more than what we're already paying for our current apartment. I don't think we'll be able to swing that.
Here are some pictures of the model unit (though you'll probably notice that the layout and the floorplan are kind of in reverse): This is the entryway...
Here's a closer look at the dining area. I LOVE those built-in, recessed shelves!

Here are a couple of shots of the kitchen (nice and big, isn't it?)...

One of the bedrooms...

And the bathroom. YAY, garden tubs :-D!

Its biggest selling point though was the closet size. The closets are HUGE! Storage will definitely not be a problem if we take this one.

The Saratoga is more within our price range, though. It's 943 square feet (203 sq. ft. less than our current apartment), and it's about $120 more than our current rent.
Here's a shot of the living area:

Storage might be an issue, but my FAVORITE part of the layout is this: an island in the kitchen! What an efficient use of space :-)!

The Saratoga also has recessed shelving and garden tubs. Who knows, maybe by the time we move, we'll be able to afford the Meadowland. For now though, I'm more than happy with the Saratoga :-).
