Rome

Steve and I were watching Rome last night on HBO. One of the scenes involved this dead soldier being brought back to his wife on a cart. She sees him, his body's all grayish-blue (I guess to illustrate how long he'd been dead), his head draped over the edge of the cart, and she rushes over to him, crying, and then she softly cradles his head in the crook of her arm.

I'm like, "Hey wait a minute. She shouldn't be able to do that--his body should be hard as a rock by now!"

Steve looks at me and goes, "Shhh... you're not supposed to notice that." Then he pauses. "Maybe they didn't have rigor mortis back then."
