Really proud
Current Mood:

I'm so proud of Steve. He's overcome one of his greatest anxieties of working outside the house.
He's now an assistant groomer at Petco--that means he helps with the bathing, blowdrying, and brushing of dogs :-). It may not sound like a glamorous job to the average person, but I'm really proud of him because the idea of working out of the house is something that has caused him much anxiety in the last few years.
And it works out really nice, too--he's so good with dogs and he's enjoying himself. On his second day at work, as we were walking to the truck together, he said that he wasn't feeling nervous--just hoping a little that he doesn't get to do too many BIG dogs today :-). I thought that was a great sign :-).
Another big plus is that his hearing difficulty is actually a benefit :-). Some of his co-workers have already said that they were envious that HE could turn off the noise whenever he wanted :-).
Of course the additional income is wonderful too, it couldn't have come at a better time--but I think the best part is that I look at him, and he's walking taller--prouder. It's the kind of walk that you see in someone who's overcome a major personal challenge :-).
