California Trip Pictures Day 1
Current Mood: CC is listening to: Nothing right now Sorry it took so long. Here are the pictures from Day 1 of our California trip :-).
September 25 Steve and I headed out to the airport at 6:30am
Our rental car: a black PT Cruiser Tourist edition. It had impressive gas mileage :-). After 4 days’ worth of traveling, often driving up to an hour to get somewhere, we still had a quarter of a gas tank left. I’m still not overly fond of the design, though. Steve likes it; but it’s a little too retro for me :-).
Steve hasn’t been to the beach in *years.* So we figured, before we went and visited my Lola Baby and Kuya Arnelle and his family, we’d head on to one of the beaches. We decided to hit Venice Beach :-).
The beach wasn't crowded that Tuesday, which was good :-).
Never saw a real lifeguard tower before. It's just like Baywatch :-).
The sea breeze was great, and it was wonderful to feel the tide and the sand between our toes :-). If we had more time, we would’ve come back :-).
Here’s a video with Steve that shows how high the waves were breaking :-). The water behind those rocks? That ain't perspective. The water level was really that high :-).
Next it was off to my relatives out in Rancho Cucamonga. It was about an hour away, but it took longer because traffic was starting to build :-).
The neighborhood
They have a beautiful home with a great view of the mountains :-)
It was REALLY comfy on these chairs :-)
