Authorwha--?

Current Mood:

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I work for a call center. Right now I'm doing curriculum development for their English training program. I used to work in Manila, but now I'm working for their Memphis office since I'd gotten married here in the US. Since I don't have a green card, I'm not allowed to be employed by the US company so until I DO get my green card, I'm like on a LONG business trip.

Anyway, we wanted to take our English training to the next level so we got a program called MacroMedia Authorware. It's a powerful piece of software but when I heard that it made things easy, I thought it made things PowerPoint-level easy. What was I THINKING?

There's still a good deal of programming involved even at the easy level. Or maybe it's really just that easy and what I want it to do for me REQUIRES heavier programming. But I knew I wasn't going to be able to figure the ins and outs by myself. I was a geek in school, but I wasn't Geek God level :-).

So last night I got an Authorware book on eBay. It's for an earlier version, but the boys on the Authorware forum say it uses the same principles. It should be here next week (of course, me being impatient, I want it today :-)).

I'm actually kind of excited to get it. If I get it before the weekend I'm thinking I could go to work on Saturday. This way I learn it over the weekend and when Monday comes, I can be more confident in putting the modules together.

(re-reads the part about me WANTING to go to work on Saturday) Told you I was a geek .
