Memories of John Paul II
Current Mood:
I remember when I saw Pope John Paul II for the first time. He went to Manila for World Youth Day. There were throngs of people lining the street, waiting for the Popemobile to drive by.
It was so eerie. When people saw the Popemobile approaching, there were loud cheers. But when people actually saw the POPE, the crowd fell silent because they were just so awe-struck. I was exactly the same way. The sight of the Holy Father waving at you was enough to make you catch your breath. I mean, this man is the closest thing to Jesus as you're going to get on this earth. Seeing him wave at you... you're like... wow.
